You should not be going back and forth between your inbox that is already cluttered with too much spam (to save one e-mail attachment after another) and then launch a totally different tool (i.e., a word processor or a spreadsheet) to do your everyday business tasks that involve making data requests and sending responses.
You should be able to run your business from anywhere - in your office, home, or at any other place while traveling.You should be able to work regardless of the device
Traditional document formating tools (including MS Office and Office for Mobile) were built for writing big reports and publishing books using PCs equipped with a mouse and a keyboard. They were not built to solve your problems as a mobile professional for requesting data or responding to data requests in real time.
